Milan Fashion Week Warm military-inspired clothes were presented at MaxMara autumn/winter 2012, during Milan Fashion Week. Slim-line tweed shorts and light-weight sweaters, a huge, serious coat frees you up to wear something cute and slim-line underneath, length trousers with braces and lots of stripy light-weight sweaters. Roomy cashmere coats had swathes of fur below the waists or from elbow to cuff, while others had cocoon shaped backs to match shift dresses that were softly tailored in front and featured cape-like behinds, some with more alligator buckled low on each hip. The mood softened to silky flared trousers in the same military tones, soft, bulging cable knits and cashmere shirt dresses buttoned high up to the neck. At night, the heavy, sheepskin coat has replaced the wispy feather bolero as a companion to oyster coloured satin evening dresses and long, silky bell-bottoms.
