Raf Simons (L) and artist Sterling Ruby
The Christian Dior creative director is teaming up with artist Sterling Ruby for a fun new fashion side project.
The fashion world is crackling with positively electrical anticipation with the news that Raf Simons will be collaborating with American modern
artist Sterling Ruby.
The line, known as the Raf Simons/Sterling Ruby collection, will be a one-off replacement for the standard Raf Simons men's collection.
Set to appear on Wednesday January 15, the first day of the upcoming Paris men's ready to wear fashion week, the pieces, which have been co-designed by Simons and Ruby, will be available to buy via the brand's stores and usual stockists.
The collection was "born from a long standing friendship and mutual admiration and the desire by both men to experience a creative process together," according to the Belgian brand.
Previous projects worked on together include designs for the Raf Simons store in Tokyo and a number of pieces from Simons' first couture collection for Christian Dior, which featured references to Ruby's paintings.
We can't wait to see the result of Ruby's "aggressive formal aesthetics" and Simons's innovative spirit.
