Moroccan women protest against abortion
Morocco\'s public prosecution has imprisoned two nurses working in a private ?clinic in the city of Al Oyoun, south Morocco, for carrying out a \"backstreet\" abortion.
Terminating a pregnancy remains illegal in Morocco, except in very specific cases.
The two nurses were arrested after the girl’s family filed a complaint to the public prosecution after the procedure lead to health complications.
A leading doctor claimed that nearly 900 women a day were undergoing backstreet abortions.
Activists are calling for a reform of the country\'s abortion law.
