Sunny, unique and unspoiled Formentera
The summer holidays may have just wrapped up, but if you’re already making mental notes for your vacation next year take some cues from a new survey that revealed the most expensive and most
affordable European destinations this summer.
According to Cheaprooms.co.uk, average daily hotel rates on the Spanish island of Formentera located off the south tip of Ibiza, were the most expensive this past August, averaging 175 Euros ($230 USD).
At the other end of the spectrum, if you’re looking for a more affordable destination next summer during the same period, consider the historical site of Bath, England, where the average daily hotel rate clocked in at 100 Euros ($131 USD).
For the survey, researchers looked at the price for the cheapest available double room with a minimum three-star rating in European destinations with a minimum of 50 regular hotels located at least one mile (1.6 km) from a major city center, beach or resort town for the month of August.
