In line with the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, tens of Emirati doctors have responded to a million hour campaign to volunteer to treat poor people worldwide.
Emirati surgeon Dr. Adel Al Shamri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said the UAE national doctors have volunteered based on their high sense of responsibility to offer medical services to the needy patients, especially children and elderly people.
He added that the campaign was launched during the closing ceremony of Doctors for Humanity, hosted by the UAE. Dr. Al Shamri cited the importance of humanitarian work done by medical cadres, which eases the suffering of the needy patients.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al Shehab, Executive Director of Doctors for Humanity, said special data of doctors has been prepared to enable them to join field work to treat sick poor people.
