City Sightseeing Sharjah, the tour buses launched by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in collaboration with City Sightseeing Worldwide, announced rescheduling its bus timetable during the holy month of Ramadan and summer season to adapt to the needs of tourists and residents and to provide more buses during rush hours.

According to the new timetable, City Sightseeing Sharjah buses will operate from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm from the 1st of June to end of September. In Ramadan, the tours will only be available from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am 7 days a week.

Chief Operating Officer of Shurooq, Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, commented, “Since its launch, City Sightseeing Sharjah has been tremendously successful and is seeing an increasing demand from visitors and tourists, as the service provides a unique experience to discover the emirate’s numerous landmarks, heritage sites and tourist attractions. We regularly review the bus timetables for the three routes to better meet the needs of users, both tourists and residents alike, and to ensure the best services are delivered.”

He added, “The summer bus timetable was rescheduled based on our evaluation of the demand for the service and to allow more tourists to enjoy Sharjah’s charming landmarks in the mornings and afternoons, while spending their evenings and nights at the city’s various leisure destinations and shopping malls. For Ramadan, we’ve scheduled the tours during the evening, when the atmosphere of the holy month is more prevalent. This will also give people a chance to enjoy Sharjah’s sights and sounds at night.”

Tours on the operator’s specially outfitted double-decker 72-passenger buses are available all week long and year-round at affordable rates. City Sightseeing Sharjah 24-hour tickets are 85 AED for adults and 45 AED for children. Ticket holders can use the buses on any of City Sightseeing Sharjah’s three routes: the Red Route (the leisure tour, 13 stops - 1 hour 30 minutes total), the Green Route (the cultural tour, 8 stops - 60 minutes), and the Blue Route (the night tour, 12 stops - 1 hour 30 minutes).

City Sightseeing Sharjah has reached great milestones since its inception, including the organisation of evening tours last summer, giving passengers the opportunity to discover the emirate’s charms and rich cultural heritage, in addition to making tickets available in over 60 locations in Sharjah.

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) launched City Sightseeing Sharjah in December 2012, in collaboration with City Sightseeing Worldwide, the world leading sightseeing tours provider. The tours were operational by January 2013. City Sightseeing Sharjah is the first tour project in the gulf area under the trademark City Sightseeing, which operates on 5 continents across the globe, and in over 100 of the most important cities in the world.
