Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Faryad Rawanduzi urged tourism companies to boost tourism and attract visitors to the country, and not only promoting travel abroad, because that affects the national economy. It came during a meeting with head of the Tourism Federation Sdad El-Mutairi and some members of the federation at his office on Sunday in Baghdad.
The meeting tackled possible ways to activate tourism, being an important factor of the national economy, urging the need to link the tourism associations in Baghdad and their counterparts in Iraqi Kurdistan and other provinces, where some still have concerns about the dominance of the capital on Kurdistan and other areas.
Rawanduzi said that the unions in Baghdad should remove these concerns and work in line with the new regime in Iraq to regulate the relationship between these parties, adding that all institutions should work in accordance with the state and the Constitution.
