World Tourism Organisation (WTO) has issued its annual report of 2013 to discuss the future of the tourism sector.
The organisation revealed that Morocco was the third most
visited country in 2012 hitting nine million tourists.
Saudi Arabia took top place in the most visited region, and despite its deteriorating political conditions, Egypt was able to take second place.
North African states witnessed a notable achievement in their tourism sectors, with an increase by nine percent.
Tunisia recorded a 24 percent in the number of tourists who visited the country in 2012.
However, the report signalled that the number of tourists visiting the Middle East in general in 2012 reached 52 million, showcasing a five percent decline compared to 2011 figures.
