WEF report celebrates UAE’s development despite limited resources
The World Economic Forum’s Competitiveness Report for Travel and Tourism has tipped the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the regional leader in tourism development.
The report placed the UAE first in the Arab world for the most development countries in travel and tourism sectors, taking the 28th place internationally.
The UAE has beaten a number of popular global tourist destinations, including Greece, Brazil, Mexico and Croatia.
Algeria came 132nd out of a list of 139 countries.
Qatar came in 41st place, with Jordan in 60th and Lebanon in 69th.
The World Economic forum has celebrated the UAE’s significant progress and development, despite limited natural resources.
Switzerland came first in the report for the sixth consecutive year, with France a close second.
The top 10 also included Spain, the United States and Singapore.
