Eiffel Tower, located on the Champ de Mars in Paris
Google France and the company that operates the Eiffel Tower are presenting three digital exhibitions focused on \"the Iron Lady\" via the Google Cultural Institute
. The monument can now be explored from a digital 360° panoramic perspective.
Internet users are invited to discover details about the birth, construction and inauguration of the Eiffel Tower through these three virtual exhibitions.
Nearly 50 images, drawings, engravings and pictures in HD full screen can be seen, while the exhibit also features an extremely rare recording of Gutave Eiffel\'s voice. Staff at the Cultural Institute have integrated panoramic views from Street View into the program to switch between archival and contemporary images.
The exhibitions are available in four languages - French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Dozens of historical archives are already available on the Google Cultural Institute, which aims to preserve and highlight various forms of cultural heritage by making them accessible online, free of charge.
Significant events from the past century are in the spotlight, including the Holocaust, Queen Elizabeth II\'s coronation, the events of May 1968 in France, the life of Nelson Mandela and 50 years of Franco-German cooperation. These archives include letters, manuscripts, videos and other various documents.
The Institute has already posted a 3D template of another important monument in French history online: the Chateau de Versailles.
