Al Montazah is in full swing to host the 9th Sharjah Food Festival which will be run by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in four destinations in Sharjah from the 25th of March till the 4th of April.
Al Montazah will feature a variety of activities during the 11-day festival including performances of world class street artists such as the multi talented actor and clown mime Diego Spano whose acclaimed portrayal of Charlie Chaplin has charmed the audience all over the world, and the Italian theatre actor Luigi who has achieved remarkable successes in Italy and many European festivals, and Indian juggler Jardo famous for comedic shows with his cobra snake, in addition. Other activities will be the live music band Smooth Operators performing wide range of musical styles on the Amphitheatre, and there will be as well fun activities for children such as the Mascots show and competitions in the Fun time zone.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khalid Al Qaseer, General Manager of Al Montazah, said: “Al Montazah has become a vital entertainment destination for families in the Emirate of Sharjah, as it offers a spacious green space and a first of its kind water park in the emirate of Sharjah. We are thrilled that Al Montazah will join the other main destinations in Sharjah to host the Sharjah Food Festival together with Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, and the Heart of Sharjah. Visitors will be treated to many cooking shows and creative performances of international bands in comedy, entertainment, and music, which will add more fun and excitement to the festival.”
Formerly known as Al Jazeera Park, the recently renovated Al Montazah Park is spread over an impressive 126 000 square meters, and offers thrilling water rides and a lavish leisure park in the very heart of the city. With its state-of-the-art modern design, the Water Park is the first of its kind in Sharjah, and provides world-class facilities and water rides for people of all ages along lush green areas. Safety and protection services are considered of utter importance, and a team of trained and efficient lifeguards are at their posts at all times. The Leisure Park extends over an area of 50,000 square meters and offers a variety of electronic games for young and old. Amenities also include kart racing, two mini football playgrounds, sports areas, and a venue for celebrating special occasions.
