It was in the prestigious château de Chantilly that Carlos Ghosn unveiled the Talisman, Renault's replacement for the Laguna. With all of its next-gen tech and equipment, this car is definitely targeting the top shelf.
Talisman is the name given to the new executive sedan from Renault, and it takes the place of the Laguna, which came out some 20 years ago. This new model will be available in a choice of two gas and three diesel models, all with very low CO2 emissions: the 110hp dCi engine should only emit 95g/km.
Seen from the outside, the Talisman has 3D-effect lighting that provides it with a powerful visual signature. These lights are always switched on, even during daylight, further reinforcing their visual impact. Depending on the version, the car also offers all the driving aids one could ask for, including a 7-inch digital instrument display under the dashboard cowling, R-Link2 with 8.7 inch screen, color heads-up display technology, BOSE Surround Sound and hands-free parking. The Talisman is also the only car in its class to combine 4Control four-wheel steering with active damping, allowing it to deliver unique road manners plus safe, dynamic, agile handling and outstanding ride comfort.
Just like the Espace and the Clio, the Talisman will get the Initale Paris signature for its high-end version, including an exclusive metallic and amethyst paint job, 19-inch wheels, Nappa leather seats and steering wheel, "relax" headrests, adjustable front seats and a dedicated call center in case of emergency.
The sedan, and the station wagon version, which has even more space, will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Built at Renault's Douai plant in France, the Talisman will first be commercialized there before the end of the year and will then be progressively introduced to the rest of Europe and then the world.
