AFP and the Yomiuri on Wednesday launched a new photo partnership
Agence France-Presse (AFP) and the Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan's largest newspaper, on Wednesday launched a new photo partnership giving AFP's clients a wider coverage of Japan.
The Yomiuri will feed a daily
selection of its best photos into ImageForum, the AFP photo database, which will be available to the agency's subscribers, AFP Asia-Pacific director Eric Wishart said.
The agreement was signed in Tokyo recently by AFP's global sales and marketing director, Olivier Lombardie, and Yomiuri photo director, Takaaki Umezaki.
"We are delighted to be able to make the Yomiuri's outstanding photo coverage of Japan available to our clients worldwide,' Wishart added.
AFP's ImageForum has some 16 million AFP images and seven million more from 34 partner newspapers and specialised picture agencies. It is used by thousands of newspapers, magazines, websites, book publishers and others.
The Yomiuri Shimbun is Japan's largest newspaper with a daily circulation of more than 10 million copies. It also publishes The Daily Yomiuri, an English-language newspaper.
