Emad el-Ifrangy has called on international media bodies to ban Israel
Head of al-Quds satellite channel Emad el-Ifrangy says that the Israeli occupation forces target media institutions because they document the crimes Israeli troops have committed against unarmed civilians.
Speaking to Arabstoday, El-Ifrangy said that both the camera and the pen are the weapons being used by journalists in Gaza to confront the Israeli occupation.
He stressed that there is a need for an international committee to investigate the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian press.
He called on the International Union of Journalists and other international organisations to step in and protect the Palestinian people and journalists from the Israeli crimes.
He added that the media worked to reveal the brutality of the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the children, civilians and various institutions. \"We tell the Israelis that the remains of our colleagues give us the strength to keep going.\"
He stressed that the Israeli occupation targets the journalists in an attempt to cover the facts, attempting to prevent them from doing their work and national duty.
El-Ifrangy said that the reports produced by his channel raised the anxiety of the Israeli government, who realised the threats posed by the media against Israeli interests. He added that the occupation works to punish the journalists for performing their role accurately and honestly.
He claimed that the Israeli occupation launched missiles targeting seven journalists, while they were taking a rest, adding such attacks would only increase the enthusiasm of journalists to perform their role.
He demanded the international press organisations to suspend the membership of Israel due to the crimes and violations that it has committed against the Palestinian journalists.
