Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla
H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has commended the support and significant attention of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and
Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and their Highnesses Supreme Council Members, the Rulers of the Emirates, to the programmes and activities to revive the folk heritage of the U.A.E. in particular, and all Arab countries in general, to preserve it from extinction.
H.H. Sheikh Saud made the remarks when he received members of the judging panels of the Al Bayt television programme, an initiative of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, focusing on Nabati poetry, with the participation of a group of Arab poets.
During the meeting, Sheikh Saud praised the efforts undertaken by Hamdan bin Mohammed's Center to revive heritage in preserving the folk heritage and the customs and traditions of the U.A.E., and his constant seek to revive the tradition of poetic, cultural and folk and maintain it from extinction.
Sheikh Saud welcomed the poets and commended the show as a good step in the efforts to highlight the role of poetry in Arab society and the importance of encouraging Arab youth to sharpen their poetic skills and to interact positively with the Arab cultural landscape.
Sheikh Saud was briefed on the objectives and the plans of Al Bayt television programmes and what could be provided by the programme to the peoples of the U.A.E. and GCC countries, and all the Arab states, regarding plans that contribute to promoting the spirit of the Arab poetic heritage.
At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Saud received a copy the publication of the centre and programme's episodes.
The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
