The Tunisian State Television Union announced its firm rejection of any nomination to manage this institution without consutations with the union, which came after the spread of semi-official news stating the
appointment of the manager of the second nation channel Eman Bahron as Director General to the instituation which includes two official channels.
Each of the basic Syndicate of Assistant Directors and TV Photography, the basic Syndicate of assistant managers, technicians and producers and the National Syndicate for Tunisian Journalists confirmed their total prepareness to defend the: “Independence of the institution by all legitimate means, and face all attempts of subordination, domination and control, either hidden or declared."
The statement stressed: “National television will continue to seek remedies for the remenants of the past and its obstacles through working hard in examining reform methods in conditions everyone knows to be difficult, especially in light of the current legal vacuum in the media sector.
