Yemeni man walks past destroyed buildings in Zinjibar
Yemen’s judicial authorities released on Tuesday the journalist Abdulelah Haidar Shaya, who was convicted of being linked to al-Qaeda, under orders of President Abd Rabbo
Mansour Hadi, Yemen News Agency reported.
Yemen news agency added that under Hadi’s orders, the fourth and fifth provisions of the ruling handed down by the specialised primary penal court on January 18, 2011 restricting Shaya\'s travel outside Sanaa for two years after his five year sentence, would still be implemented.
Journalists and right activists protested in Sanaa outside security buildings and the US embassy calling to release the Yemeni journalist, meanwhile the US authorities were putting pressure on Yemen authorities not to release him, accusing him for belonging to al-Qaeda.
