Lughati, the Sharjah-based initiative dedicated to supporting Arabic learning the smart way, received a group of teachers in Al Qasba on 4 October 2016 to mark World Teachers’ Day, held annually on 5 October, to highlight their efforts in educating the today’s students and tomorrow’s generations.
The event was attended by Her Excellency Aisha Saif Al Khaja, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Lughati, along with teachers from various schools in Sharjah, in line with Lughati’s goals to honour esteemed faculty members and emphasise teachers’ crucial role in building future generations and imparting students with the knowledge through which they can build a solid foundation for their educational journeys.
“We would like to express our deep appreciation for teachers. We are indebted to their utmost efforts and their essential role in educating students and raising awareness among them, along with motivating their creative intellect and instilling good values in them in order to help them build their future,” Badria Al Ali said.
Al Ali stressed the crucial role that teachers play in supporting Lughati initiative and ensuring its success inside the classroom by guiding students on how to use smart devices, applications and programmes, and to integrate those methods into the curriculum.
“The proper implementation of the Lughati initiatives in the classroom contributes to promoting Arabic among students, strengthening its value and instilling in the students the love of learning the language,” Al Ali added.
Teachers also praised the key role that the Lughati initiative plays in supporting the learning process, underlining the importance of integrating technology into the evaluation of educational goals and ensuring that objectives are attained and exceeded. They added that it is “vital” to maximise research in modern educational methods, in alignment with the ever-changing demands of teaching and learning.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, launched the Lughati smart Arabic learning initiative with the aim of supporting the Arabic National Curriculum with modern educational methods, smart applications and new programmes. It aims to encourage children to learn and use Arabic in an enjoyable environment that motivates them to attain all kinds of scientific, cultural, social and economic knowledge.
