Saudi school The Kingdom is introducing changes to its education system that will take at least 12 years to implement, according to Hamad Aal Al-Shaikh, Deputy Minister of boys education.He was speaking Wednesday at the Arab Educational Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), where education outcomes in the region were revealed.
Aal Al-Shaikh said everyone should be patient while the processes are underway, adding that the education outcomes in the GCC were positive. He called on all the GCC education ministries to work together to ensure further success.
Dr. Ali Al-Garni, manager of the Arab Educational Office for the GCC, said problems in the Saudi education system cannot be solved overnight.
He added that the organization is working to support educators in terms of upgrading their teaching and administrative skills.
He advised teachers to ensure that students stick to the prescribed curriculums. Students should learn out of textbooks and not be given worksheets. The school curriculums are set based on the age and ability of students, he added
