The Egyptian Sporting Club has defeated Jordan's Orthodox Club 48-47 after a very difficult basketball match as part of the third Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST), hosted by Sharjah until February 12th. It was very well fought match between the two strong sides, which are thought to be among the teams most likely to win the Arab title.
Meanwhile, the Sharjah Ladies Club beat Bahrain's Al Najma Club 78-53 despite the strong start of Al Najma team. The Sharjah Ladies Club won 31-29 against Al Najma
Club in the first half of the match. The Algerian Olympic Club clinched an overwhelming win after beating the Emirati Bani Yas Club 106-52.
The volleyball competitions saw the Bahraini Al Muharraq Club win 3-0 against the Palestinian Ebda'a Club, while the Sharjah Ladies Club beat the Jordanian Olympic team 3-0.
In the single table tennis competitions, Lebanese player Mariana Sahagian and Qatari player Maha Abdul Redha have qualified for the final match.
The third Arab Women Sports Tournament is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
