Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has urged Emirati women researchers to come forward, participate and compete in various areas of research and science, especially in the programme of the L Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science for Fellowships in the Middle East.
Sheikh Hamdan, in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM), said that he instructed all departments of the Ministry to take all necessary measures to empower women, develop their leading role in society, and provide scholarship opportunities to them.
Sheikh Hamdan added that Emirati women have proven themselves in various areas of research.
He praised Zayed University, which recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the L'Oreal Middle East Foundation, on cooperation in the programme launched by the Foundation in collaboration with the 'UNESCO' Organisation.
