Women Union in front of UN headquarters in Damascus The General Union of Syrian Women in addition to the Palestinian and Iraqi women unions staged a sit-in in front of the UN headquarters in Damascus to express rejection of the US threats against Syria.
Head of the General Union of Syrian Women, Majida Quteit, delivered a statement to Khaled al-Masri, the media consultant at the UN office in Damascus.
The statement called upon the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the affiliated international institutions to stand against the aggression on Syria and condemn it.
The statement stressed that the plans of US military intervention in Syria are false pretexts to justify their occupation plots against the country, adding that the chemical weapons scenario came after the armed terrorist groups failed to achieve their goals.
