Beeah, the Sharjah Environment Company, has announced the signing of a five-year Service Contract Agreement with Dibba Al Hisn Municipality for city cleaning and waste management services, in line with their efforts to promote environmental awareness across the community.
Under the agreement, the city cleaning division of Bee'ah, Tandeef, will undertake regular cleaning services of various areas in Dibba Al Hisn, including public squares, municipality buildings' outdoor plazas and city canals, in addition to waste collection services and transportation to Dibba Al Hisn Waste Station.
Tandeef will be further responsible for taking over and developing recycling infrastructure and submitting periodical reports on the volume of waste collected and sorted. Alongside their cleaning and waste management services, Tandeef will be replacing the existing waste containers in the area with Bee'ah's latest receptacles and providing support to various environmental and educational awareness campaigns led by the local government departments and schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Taleb Abdullah Safar, Director General of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, said, "Undoubtedly, the agreement contributes to the luxurious services offered to the city residents and helps consolidate the position of the UAE and Sharjah as the Middle East's environmental capital, in line with the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which is aimed at establishing a sustainable environment for future generations."
"Bee'ah's capabilities, its track record of accomplishments and reputation for best practices in waste management, will enable us to provide efficient waste collection services for the purpose of beautifying the city. We will also be able to develop environmental awareness policies and organise environmental activities and events targeted at engaging the residents of the city and improving their awareness on sustainable development and environmental issues," he added.
Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee'ah, said, "We are pleased to cooperate with Dibba Al Hisn Municipality through an Agreement that significantly adds to our quest towards promoting environmental best practices, making the UAE more sustainable, greener and by consolidating its position as the environmental capital of the Middle East."
Under this agreement, Tandeef has developed a wide range of environmental programmes which will play a vital role in providing coherent environmental solutions to meet the challenges of the community. The objective to further cooperate in other areas will allow Bee'ah to continue leading environmental change in the region and will contribute significantly to their zero waste to landfill vision. Dibba Al Hisn Municipality also plans to issue a number of necessary decisions and regulations to legally prevent the public from random dumping of waste and to facilitate the entry and exit of Bee'ah cleaning staff to the city's waste station to undertake and complete their tasks stipulated in the agreement.
