Unseasonal heavy rains claim one life in Mauritania
Nouakchott – Mohamed Shina
One person has died and several others injured after flash floods swept through the Mauritanian region of Tagant.
Witnesses told Arab Today that some homes
were completely demolished, following the torrential rain which continues to batter the mountainous landscape.
Residents have called on the government and international aid organisations to provide help to those who have lost their homes. They said foods and some livestock have been swept away in the muddy waters flowing from higher ground.
