The Kuwait Society for the Protection of Animals and Their Habitat has opened an exhibition designed to promote the association's basic goal; protection of these living creatures.
Sheikh Fatimah Mubarak AlSabah, the society executive chief, said in a statement at the inauguration ceremony, late on Sunday, that goal of the exhibition is to highlight the principle of being merciful to the animals, abstention from hurting them and maintaining a balanced environment where man, animal and the environment coexist in harmony.
"Animals are souls that sense pain and joy," she said, noting that the society, with its special staff, provides care to more than 250 animals.
She boasted of the association's other activities at the national level, namely cleaning up beaches, protecting migrating birds and minimizing number of stray animals.
