Crowd of volunteers help rescue beached whales
A number of Moroccan activists have expressed their opposition to the random way authorities bury dead whales washed ashore the coast of Safi
, Morocco.
The Moroccan authorities use bulldozers intended for demolishing buildings to bury the whales.
Activists demanded the government appoint experienced researchers to investigate what is causing the whales to die. The government has so far refused their proposal.
Environmental observers blame fishing vessels for hitting the whales and killing them. Protesters intend to organise a number of peaceful demonstrations to call for better care and preservation of sea life in Morocco. They warned that it could lead to the whale’s extinction if not addressed.
