Governor of Khartoum, Dr Abdul Rahman Al Khidr has called on governmental authorities to plant more trees and make Khartoum the \"Green Capital
.\"
Dr Abdul Rahman Al Khidr is seeking to have approximately one million trees planted in each governorate by the end of the current year. He believes by doing so will \"reduce temperatures and dust storms.\"
According to Sudanese newspaper of Sahafa, Khidr announced that the Supreme Council of Environment will be sponsoring this \"vital project.\" He stressed the need to provide all the necessary requirements to ensure the project\'s success.
