Eminent figures participating in the Eighth Edition of the Fez Forum on the Alliance of Civilisations and Cultural Diversity and the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue have honored Director-General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic and Social Development Abdul-Latif Al-Hamad.Speaking during inaugural session of the broad forum, held late on Friday, the prominent figures hailed the leading Kuwaiti philanthropist for his unaccountable works in the social, relief and humanitarian domains.They particularly mentioned Al-Hamad\'s role for allocating financial aid for vital development projects in Morocco, such as construction and renovation of roads, irrigation projects, land reclamation, building airports, dams, ports and renovating historical sites.Al-Hamad, who was celebrated as man of the year, expressed appreciation, in remarks to KUNA, for the generous gesture. He also affirmed the solid ties bounding KFAED with the kingdom and congratulated the king on the new constitution.Mohammad Al-Qubaj, the former minister of economy and finance, said Al-Hamad deserved such honoring, considering his prime role in enhancing Kuwait\'s ties with nations, namely Morocco, which has been granted so far up to USD four billion in aid from the fund.For his part, Madi Khamees, Secretary General of the Arab Media Forum, boasted that an eminent Kuwaiti personality was honored by such a broad gathering.\"Although Kuwait is small in size, it has proven to be a great nation giving distinguished and creative men, whose works are visible across the Arab world,\" Khamees said.The forum got underway, under the theme, \"youth and challenges of globalization.\" Abdul-Haqq Azouzi, the head of the Moroccan Interdisciplinary Center for Strategic and International Studies, which organized the event, said in a statement to KUNA that the participants would examine experience of the Arab Spring events.
