Energy Minister and National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) board Chairman Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza presided today NOGA 91 regular meeting. He praised success of Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) and Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) which were held recently in the Kingdom. He also lauded support of the oil companies to these activities. The meeting reviewed the mechanism being taken to reinstate dismissed workers in the oil sector in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to implement Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry's recommendations. The meeting also reviewed stages of construction of the Training and Development Academy in the oil sector, in cooperation with the Royal Charity Organization. Board member and Head of the Environment Committee of oil companies Abdulrahman Abdulhussain Jawahri briefed the board on the work of the Committee concerning coordination among oil companies on environmental issues. A report on natural gas supply and demand was reviewed alongside the efforts made to provide new projects with natural gas by increasing domestic production. Dr. Mirza concluded the meeting by extending his gratitude to HM the King, HRH the Prime Minister and the HRH the Crown Prince for their continuous support to the oil and gas sector. He also valued the efforts exerted by the oil companies staff in achieving record accomplishments in 2011.
