A senior Fatah official collapsed Thursday during remarks at a workshop at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Ramallah in the central West Bank, officials said. Tawfiq Tirawi, a member of Fatah's central committee, was transferred to hospital, a Fatah source said. The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Ma'an that the official fell ill about five minutes into the workshop and was taken immediately to hospital for evaluation. Tirawi was participating in a seminar about the late Khalil al-Wazir, one of Fatah's founders. Tirawi is heading the Palestinian investigative committee on the death of late leader Yasser Arafat.
