Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton returned to the spotlight at a Washington awards gala for an organization she helped create. Clinton, a former first lady and U.S. senator, was greeted by several dozen supporters of a Clinton presidential run when she arrived at the Kennedy Center for the Vital Voices Global Awards Ceremony, the Los Angeles Times reported. The Tuesday night event honoring women leaders in developing nations grew out of an initiative Clinton founded in 1997. Looking around this room, I know it\'s filled with friends and colleagues and advocates and extraordinary women and men who understand the importance of this work,\" Clinton said. Clinton was joined by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, viewed as a possible 2016 presidential candidate if Clinton decides not to run. In Democratic circles, the assumption is that Clinton, 65, will be a candidate as long as she is healthy.
