A Muscat-based girl, Maitry Udani, who completed her initial education in Muscat, has been among the top 2 per cent of recipients who have had the honour of being presented with the prestigious ‘Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award’. The Award was presented to her in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and demonstrating admirable leadership. The award is based on a combination of achievements and services to the community. Maitry has also been bestowed with the Beta Gamma Sigma Award, the highest recognition that a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business programme accredited by AACSB International. It was conferred by The Beta Gamma Sigma International Honours Society; a highly competitive society for Business students where members are chosen on an invitation-only basis. Having graduated Magna cum Laude (94.5 per cent) with Honours, Maitry, was invited to present her 2-year research project on \'Sustainability and the Reverse Supply Chain\' at The National Collegiate Honours Council\'s annual conference in Washington, DC. As president of the Accounting Society and Treasurer of the Entrepreneurial Leaders Club, Maitry organised various events ranging from environmental awareness and clean-up programmes to increasing understanding of global financial issues through interactive seminars.
