Education Minister Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi has honoured two students who had won international scientific creativity contests.
The minister honoured Dana Hussain Barakat from Shaikha Hessa Girls’ School who created an animated cartoon character aimed to preserve the environment. She was the sole Arab student among more than 2,000 contestants worldwide.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also honoured Salman Hamad Khamdan from Naeem Secondary Boys’ School who designed a gesture-controllable smart-wheelchair to suit the needs of handicapped students.
The minister praised both students for their outstanding achievement in international contests, asserting the ministry’s keenness to encourage Bahraini students’ participation in external competitions that provide them the opportunity to view the experience of other countries and to gain expertise in the various fields of talents.
