General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said that the Abu Dhabi Award is an embodiment of the great traditions instilled by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and followed on his path and principles by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for noble humanitarian values to prevail. Shaikh Mohammad spoke during the ceremony held at the Emirates Palace hotel yesterday evening where ten winners were presented the 2011 Abu Dhabi Awards. He also added that personalities are honoured for their genuine values and high principles known to exemplify the UAE community. These traits still live many UAE nationals, thus they deserve to be thanked for their efforts and time dedicated to the benefit of the country. Shaikh Mohammad greeted the award-winners and praised their contributions to the service of Abu Dhabi and he expressed his happiness at seeing a new batch of people with exemplary humanitarian and community work. The award ceremony, in its sixth chapter, was attended by Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Mohammad Ahmad Al Murr, Head of the Federal National Council; other Shaikhs, ministers, senior officials, and families of the award winners.
