The 35th Regional Course on Key Issues on the International Economic Agenda organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) kicked off in the Omani capital on Monday.
The course will run for three weeks.
Mohsen bin Khamis al Balushi, advisor at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said this course is hosted by the Sultanate for the third time as part of an agreement between the UNCTAD and the Sultanate to cover international economic policies.
The UNCTAD Secretary General representative highlighted the main issues that will be covered by the course, saying the course, which targets policy makers and economic experts, provides an opportunity for sharing experiences on the best practices implemented by the different countries.
The course will cover three topics; development policies and the role of international trade and finance in a globalized world, harnessing benefits from trade and enhancing productive capacities through foreign direct investment, enterprise development and science, technology and innovation.
