Pakistani Defence Minister, Khurram Dastgir Khan, on Monday, stressed the need to end the activities pursued by any terrorist group, to ensure the security of Pakistan and the international community.
"We will continue to face international embarrassment as long as we turn a blind eye to these groups, and therefore we must end our relationship with the past, in which armed groups formed, to fight the Soviet occupation forces in Afghanistan in the 1980s," Minister Khan said in an interview with Geo TV.
He also referred to the national plan of action to combat terrorism adopted by the civil and military leadership and all parties in 2014, after the Taliban attack on an army school in the city of Peshawar in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the deaths of 150 people, mostly students.
