Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein patronized a ceremony held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on the occasion of the Hijri New Year. Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Salam Abbadi stressed in remarks during the ceremony, which was attended by a number of Royal family members, ministers and other officials, the importance of this anniversary in the history of the Islamic nation. He added that the occasion represents a chance to recall how the event impacted the future of the Muslim nation. Abbadi said that the Hijra aimed at achieving message of this great religion, highlighting the noble meanings of this occasion. Hijri refers to the migration or journey of Prophet Mohammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina, which paved the way for the establishment of the Islamic state.
