Rabat - QNA

Prince Moulay Rachid on Thursday morning left Jeddah after having represented HM King Mohammed VI at the 4th extraordinary summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Mecca on August 14-15. At his departure from the King Abdulaziz international airport, the prince was seen off by the Saudi ambassador to Rabat, Mohamed Bin Abderahmane Al-Bichr, the chargé d\'affaires of the Moroccan embassy in Riyadh, Mustapha Belhaj and several civil and military officials. HRH held talks, Wednesday with the Tunisian president, Moncef Marzouki, to whom he conveyed the greetings of King Mohammed VI. In a message read by HRH, Prince Moulay Rachid, HM King Mohammed VI called for striving to buildthe relations between the countries of the Muslim Ummah on solid, stable foundations in a world that has grown increasingly competitive and become dominated by the large economies. The Sovereign also called for the \"immediate end\" of violence in Syria, stressing the need to sort out this crisis by easing off the transfer of the political power in a manner that allows the people of Syria to launch a new start in its history. The monarch also underlined the need for the islamic countries to take firm initiatives, make practical choices and ensure the necessary means to support the Palestinian people and the National Authority.
