Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Wednesday made a visit to Mabarrat Um Al Hussein orphanage where they met with a group of orphans. The King and the Queen checked on facilities of the orphanage, which accommodates 98 children, and were briefed on programs, projects and services offered to beneficiaries. Mabarrat Um Al Hussein, which was established 54 years ago, aims to educate and care for boys between the ages of 6-18 who are living in hardship. A large number of these kids are either orphans, or come from broken homes and impoverished families. His Majesty instructed the government to provide the orphanage with educational facilities to upgrade the level of services offered to orphans. During a visit to the Prime Ministry last Sunday, the King urged the government to take all necessary measures to address demands of orphans to preserve their dignity and ensure protection for them. King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Tuesday held an iftar banquet for orphans from institutions and societies affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and beneficiaries from Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.
