VIVA Bahrain has today launched the fourth generation (4G) long term evolution (LTE) network, the latest technological evolution in broadband, providing great value for individuals and businesses. Information Affairs Authority (IAA) President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa attended the launch event at the Bahrain City Centre. He met VIVA Bahrain chief executive Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, stressing the importance of broadband internet in bolstering media projects, thus ensuring high-definition broadcasting. He pointed out Bahrain\'s pioneering strides in upgrading its technological infrastructure, hailing the efforts of VIVA Bahrain to promote telecommunications in line with the development achievements in the Kingdom. He also stressed the importance of benefiting from the cutting edge technologies in spearheading the Media City project – a mega scheme expected to attract several world TV channels. VIVA Bahrain chief executive Ulaiyan Al Wetai expressed thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Fawaz, unveiling VIVA-led development and modernization plans. AHN
