Under the auspices of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports cum chairman of the Bahraini Olympics Committee, the Kingdom of Bahrain is scheduled to host the world table tennis championship for youth in the period 13-20 November 2011. The organizing committee's chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa - secretary-general of the Bahraini Olympics Committee also chairman of Bahrain Tennis Association - confirmed the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this championship which is the first of its kind in Bahrain's history. On the other hand, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hama expressed great interest in the upcoming world sports event and accentuated the significance of boosting the ties between local sports associations and international sports federations as these steps help yield positive returns. Director of the championship Eyyad Hamza revealed the inauguration ceremony's program to be conducted at 19:00 next Sunday (13 Nov. 2011): the program includes a documentary film on Bahrain's history and civilization and reception of the teams as they enter into the stadium in addition to a welcoming speech by chairman of the Supreme Organizing committee of the Championship Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and another speech by President of the International Table Tennis Association the Egyptian Ayman Shararah.
