President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited on Wednesday the headquarters of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) to follow up the implementation of the general census project.
The president was received by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Planning Minister Hala el Saaed and CAPMAS Chairman Abu Bakr el Gendi.
During his visit, Gendi posted the president on the details of the project, which is the first electronic census in Egypt and aims at establishing the largest database in the history of the country.
The president also watched a documentary on the project. He also launched a commemorative stamp on this occasion.
Wrapping up his visit, the president thanked all employees participating in the census that are estimated at 40,000. He also expressed his appreciation of their efforts in the first and second phases of the project.
