Dubai Healthcare City Authority, DHCA, the governing body of the Dubai Healthcare City, DHCC, free zone, today received the Brazilian Minister of Health, Ricardo Barros, to discuss means of cooperation and future opportunities.
The Brazilian delegation was welcomed by Khalid Ahmed Al Sheikh Al Shamsi, CEO of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi, CEO of Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory, Dr. Amer Al Zarouni, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City Medical, Bader Saeed Hareb, CEO, Dubai Healthcare City Investments, and Professor Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Dean of the College of Medicine at Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, MBRU.
During the visit, the DHCA leadership team provided an overview of the free zone’s achievements and the two parties exchanged their expertise within the healthcare industry.
As part of DHCC’s commitment to provide quality healthcare services in all specialities and provide world class healthcare, DHCA’s regulatory body, currently recognises qualifications from Brazil, one of the 78 countries in its professional licensing framework.
To be licensed in the free zone as a specialist, a healthcare professional from Brazil has to be registered as a specialist by Brazilian Regional or Federal Medical Councils, and hold a specialty training certificate from the Brazilian Medical Association or Brazilian College of Surgeons.
During the visit, the DHCA leadership team accompanied Mr. Barros on a tour of the MBRU, including the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Centre, the first comprehensive simulation training facility of its kind in the region.
