Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh presided over the third meeting of the National Committee for Combating Incommunicable Chronic Diseases, in the presence of Ministry of Health (MoH)'s Assistant Undersecretary for Primary and Public Health, Dr. Mariam Al Hajeri, ministry officials, and members of the committee representing public and private sector's establishments.
The meeting reviewed the objectives of prevention of non-contagious ailments, the improvement of quality and efficiency of health services provided to achieve the community partnership in combating chronic diseases and to alleviate the impact of risks factors on the health of individuals in the local community.
The committee endorsed agenda and reviewed the important recommendations of its previous meeting, including the ministerial resolution for reduction of salt in the products of manual and mechanical bakeries as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Cabinet Resolution 176 to ban advertisement for, and reduce the impact of, 'energy drinks'.
