President of the Supreme Council for Health, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has affirmed that the first International Pearl Pediatric Conference (PPC) reflects the keenness of the kingdom and its government to attract specialised medical conferences that bring together international expertise and competencies.
He also underlined the kingdom's support to all efforts aimed at consolidating cooperation and exchange of medical and scientific expertise to promote public health and enhance prevention from and treatment of various diseases.
He highlighted the importance of the conference in shedding light at the main medical specialties and providing a wonderful forum for upgrading knowledge and exploring the innovations and recent advances in neonatology, general pediatrics and pediatric subspecialty.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa made the statement while opening the first International Pearl Pediatric Conference, organised by the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) until February 25.
More than 40 keynote speakers from Bahrain, GCC countries, Sudan, India, Ireland and Germany are participating in the conference's various sessions, attended by 500 doctors, nursing and laboratories staff and students from the Medical College.
During the opening ceremony, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa made a cash donation to the University Medical Centre of King Abdullah Medical City's charity fund to treat children.
