Dr. Barry Meisenberg, Medical Director of the DeCesaris Cancer Institute, stated that he is looking forward to co-operating with Tawam Hospital and its cancer treatment centre, to enable it to become one the most important cancer centres in Abu Dhabi, as well as the Arab region and the entire world.
During a workshop organised by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, SEHA, Dr. Meisenberg, along with a delegation from the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Johns Hopkins University, said that the workshop will teach the latest medical knowledge that will enable local doctors to utilise SEHA’s capabilities in improving the cancer treatment services in Tawam Hospital while highlighting the current expertise of the hospital’s cancer centre.
"SEHA is looking forward to strengthening the regional standards of medical care, medical education and clinical research related to the treatment of cancer," said Dr. Matar Rashid Al Darmaki, CEO of SEHA.
"The renewal of our co-operation with the cancer centre at John Hopkins University is part of our clinical partnership and the development of cancer research," he added.
The cancer centre at Tawam Hospital, which was established in 2011, offers all types of services related to cancer science, blood diseases, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and pain relief, and it is notable for its modern infrastructure, medical systems, medical and nursing manpower, and its effective and professional technical support services.
