The official UAE Hajj Mission has deployed six medical teams to provide medical and healthcare services to UAE pilgrims in the holy lands, according to a medical source.
Dr. Abdullah bin Hamaad, Internal Medicine Consultant at the Mission, stated that two field teams are dedicated to serving women pilgrims in the two holy cities of Makka and Medinah, and each team will include a doctor, a nurse, an ambulance and a pharmacy.
''There are also clinics in Makka, Medinah, Arafa and Mina to serve pilgrims, as well as four fully-equipped ambulances, three in Makka and one in Medinah,'' he added.
Dr. bin Hamaad indicated that large quantities of medicines, including for treating chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, as well as burns and fractures, will be distributed to Hajj tour operators free of charge.
''The medical teams will include diverse and experienced consultants from the Ministry of Health, as well as health authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, who are capable of dealing with emergency cases,'' he further added.
Six inspection teams will review the operations of Hajj tour operators, to assess the health conditions of pilgrims.
