Actress Kinda Alloush wants to ‘uplift’ Syria Cairo - Mohamed Alloush Syrian actress Kinda Alloush confirmed that she enjoyed sitting on the jury at the 35th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), which ended on Thursday. In a statement to Arabstoday Kinda said that her participation in the festival does not mean that she has forgotten about the bloodshed in Syria. She explained that she was playing a role in uplifting her country through doing what they are, as a nation, great at: art. Kinda spoke of her happiness with her new film Bertita which is currently showing in cinemas. In the film Kinda plays Mona: “a character that could provoke and enchant any actress”, she said. Bertita stars Amr Youssef, Ahmed Saadani, Dina Fouad, Madeleine Tabar and Ahmed Zaher. It was written by Wael Abdullah, and directed by Sherif Mandour.
