Fawakherji stars in Hadatha Fi Dimashk Cairo – Khaled Ali In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji shed light on rumours about Syrian cinema, stating that the industry is doing well despite the ongoing conflict in the country. The actress, who is currently preparing for her new drama series, Hadatha Fi Dimashk, said that Syrian cinema still exists, adding that her upcoming drama will be screened in a cinema. Hadatha Fi Dimashk has been directed by Baseel al-Khatib and Sulaf tells us that she will be playing the character of Wedad the Aleppine: “Wedad's character is nothing like I have ever done before so I am really excited. I’m not going to give away any more details though, because I want my audience to be surprised," Fawakherji said. Filming for the new drama is to begin in two weeks, the actress concluded.
