Renowned singer, George Wassouf, delivered an enchanting performance in the beautiful Northern Lebanese town of Ehden, within the activities of "Ehden Music Festival", organized by Lebanese expatriate in Germany, Tony Franjieh, who gave the land for the construction of a church bearing the name of St. Charbel.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Venezuela in Lebanon, Souad Karam, President of Zgharta Al-Zawya Municipalities Union, Zienni Kheir, Zghorta-Ehden Municipality head, Shahwan Ghazal Mouawad.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Tony Suleiman Franjieh, engineer Theodore Makary, Salam Zgharta Club President Father Stephan Franjieh, Consul of Lebanon in Brazil Qabalan Franjieh, and a huge crowd of artists, including directors Mirna Khayat and Tony Abu Elias, Lebanese actor, Tony Issa, journalists Darine Shaheen, Ursula Dakkash, and Rachel Karam.
The big event was commenced by Robert Franjieh, who introduced the three singers, and then Anwar Al Amir sang songs for George Wassouf, Julia Boutros, and Toni Hanna.
Later during the evening, Viviane Murad had a special appearance during which she sang songs for Sabah, Fairouz, Samira Tawfik, and Edith Piaf.
Having concluded her fabulous performance, the audience sat and waited impatiently to listen to George Wassouf.
Wassouf delivered a 2-hour smashing performance along with a band led by Mwafak Al Thehabi.
After an absence of four years from Ehden festivals, Wassouf charmed his audience with a mix of old and new songs, as well as other songs by Umm Kulthum and Warda Al-Halabi.
Zgharta-Ehden Municipality head handed Wassouf an oil painting of Ehden by artist Sayed Boumehrez.
It is to note that renowned Lebanese singer, Melhem Barakat, will be delivering a similar performance on the evening of August 29 in Ehden.
